Instructions for joining the
Facebook Group for Auburn
Fiji Old-Timers

Ernie Strong
started a secret Facebook group just for "Auburn Fiji Old-Timers."
Currently, we have 52 members in the group.
The goal of the Old-Timers Group is to provide a casual and comfortable
place for graduate Brothers to reconnect and reminisce. Brothers can
post comments and photos about their days as an Auburn Fiji, their careers/retirement,
families, hobbies, travels, etc.
How can you join our Old-Timers Facebook group?
If you are not a Facebook user, this might be a good reason for you
to register. Facebook memberships are free and relatively painless to
set up. Just go to facebook.com and
register with your real name. You should probably tailor your security
settings to restrict who may see your information as described in the
Facebook help files.
If you are already a Facebook user, you will not be able to search and
find our Old-Timers group, because it is a "secret" (hidden)
group.
1. First, you must establish a regular "Facebook Friendship"
with any Fiji in the Old-Timers group. Just send a "Facebook Friend
Request" to anyone on our Group Membership list.
2. After the "Facebook Friendship" is established, that Fiji
Friend can add your name to our Old-Timers Group (e.g. "nominate"
you for membership)
3. The Group Admin, Ernie Strong, will activate your group membership.
If the Ernie does not recognize your name, he might check the Fiji Headquarters
database at PhiGam.org before activating
your membership. This somewhat tedious membership process assures that
our group members are all Fijis.
After you become a group member, you can begin participating and adding
your Auburn Fiji friends.
Note: If you try to use the Facebook Search function to find a Fiji
Brother already in our group, you may find many Facebook members with
similar names. Instead, use the exact Facebook name in the table, or
even better, click on the direct URL link to their Profile Page. If
the link does not function in your document reader, just copy and paste
the link into your internet browser.
For more information, please contact Ernie
Strong.
